Crafted from a blend of New York Muscat, Geisenheim and Ortega. Try this wine with rich seafood or mild curries.
Grape: 86% New York Muscat, 9% Geisenheim, 5% Ortega
The 2017 growing season started off fairly typical. Spring and summer delivered a little more rain than usual but the growing season was otherwise on par with most of the last decade. A particularly warm fall, with many warm nights through October and in to November, led to an above average level of ripeness in the grapes as well as lower than usual acidity.
This wine was fermented in stainless steel to maintain clean, fresh fruit flavours. The New York Muscat was fermented completely dry and blended with some Geisenheim 318 to add a touch of sweetness and some balancing acidity, and a little bit of Ortega to round out the aromatic profile.
On the nose this wine shows notes of peach, lychee, rose water, and allspice. The palate shows orange, lychee, and herbs with an initial sweetness fading to a subtle grapefruit and floral finish.
