Made with a blend of estate grown and valley grapes, this off-dry wine pairs well with spicy Asian cuisine, madras curry, duck, and creamy soft cheese.
The 2017 growing season started off fairly typical. Spring and summer delivered a little more rain than usual but the growing season was otherwise on par with most of the last decade. A particularly warm fall, with many warm nights through October and in to November, led to an above average level of ripeness in the grapes as well as lower than usual acidity.
This wine was fermented in stainless steel to maintain clean, fresh fruit flavours. The Riesling was fermented in two separate tanks with different yeast, one to dryness the other stalled with natural residual sugar.
On the nose this wine shows notes of crisp apple, lime, and pineapple, with subtle notes of honeycomb and citrus blossom. The palate shows clean citrus fruit and honey with a zippy long finish.
